Jessie C. Way,
D.Hyp, CH, MNCH(Reg), HPD(NCH), CHNC Reg, GQHP, GHR Reg

I first encountered hypnotherapy in the late 1990s and was immediately drawn to both its depth and its efficiency. I was fascinated by how effectively it could support change — often in a fraction of the time people expect — and that fascination has never left me.

Almost 30 years later, hypnotherapy remains a central and deeply rewarding part of my professional life. I continue to be inspired by its ability to help people reduce stress, rebuild confidence, and move forward with greater ease and clarity.

I am a Certified Hypnotherapist (CH) and hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy (D.Hyp), alongside the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), which is widely regarded as one of the most robust qualifications in the profession.

My initial training was completed through the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) in the United States — one of the oldest and most respected hypnotherapy organisations worldwide. This training was delivered by Michael Hathaway, a Board Certified Fellow of the NGH and Director of the White Mountain Hypnosis Center in New Hampshire, USA.. The approach had a lovely lean towards Ericksonian and conversational hypnotherapy and formally introduced me to Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

I later undertook further advanced professional training in London with Dr Kate Beaven-Marks, founder of HypnoTC (The Hypnotherapy Training Company). This world-leading programme significantly expanded my clinical skill set and led to the completion of the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma, accredited by NCFE and benchmarked at Level 4 under Ofqual standards. Completion of this diploma also enabled my registration with the Complementary & Natural Health Council (CHNC), having met the National Occupational Standards required of practising hypnotherapists.

Across my training in both the UK and the US, I have been schooled in behavioural, cognitive, analytical and regressional hypnotherapy approaches, allowing me to tailor sessions to the individual rather than rely on a single method.

Alongside my hypnotherapy training, I studied a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Mental Health and minors in Sociology and Philosophy. During my degree I was inducted into two academic honours societies with highest honours.

Further professional development includes both basic and advanced training with Jack Canfield, author of The Success Principles and co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. This work deepened my understanding of motivation, self-esteem, goal-setting and sustainable personal change — principles that continue to inform my work with clients.

My therapeutic focus

At the heart of my practice is a strong commitment to relieving stress and supporting deep relaxation. In today’s fast-paced world, many people are functioning well on the surface while feeling depleted underneath. Hypnotherapy offers a powerful way to interrupt this pattern and restore balance.

I also place great importance on confidence, self-esteem and resilience. Once these foundations are strengthened, meaningful and lasting change becomes far more achievable — whether the goal is personal growth, improved performance, or navigating a specific challenge.

In addition to resilience-based work, I regularly support clients with a wide range of issues including sleep difficulties, weight management, performance enhancement, phobias, habits such as nail-biting, and more.

If you’re unsure whether hypnotherapy can help with your particular concern, you’re very welcome to ask. And where hypnotherapy isn’t the right fit, I will always aim to guide you toward appropriate alternatives.

Learning, developing and applying hypnotherapy in service of others is both a privilege and a responsibility. Ongoing professional development is not only a requirement of my professional memberships — it is something I genuinely enjoy.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I look forward to connecting with you.
